Stretch Therapy Relax is a series of 12 stand-alone classes, each with a focus on unwinding from the stresses of daily life and directly experiencing deep relaxation. Each session has a set theme designed to release tension in areas of the body that become tight as a result of our stressful and busy lives. As sessions are self-contained, drop-ins are welcome and there is no commitment to participate in any set number of classes.
Stretch Therapy Relax classes will consist of a selection of stretches, followed by a lying relaxation session. While classes will provide participants with a glimpse of the Stretch Therapy system, they will not explore ST principles or techniques in depth. If you wish to develop your own personalized practice, please consider joining the Starting Stretch Therapy course. However, the lying relaxation sessions will provide participants with a relaxation practice that they can continue to develop on their own and which will enhance an existing stretching practice. This makes Stretch Therapy Relax sessions an excellent supplement to the Starting Stretch Therapy course, and course participants will receive a 1,000 yen discount on Relax sessions.
All necessary equipment will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat if they have one. Cold-natured participants may wish to bring a blanket for use during the lying relaxation portion of the class to ensure maximum comfort. Classes may be conducted primarily in either Japanese or English, depending on the needs of the class participants. Regardless of the primary language of instruction, an effort will be made to ensure that all students understand the material and questions are always welcome.
